We extend an invitation for twelve courageous congregational ministry teams to participate in training toward vital and relevant worship and ministry with Dr. Phil Maynard. Phil is currently the Director of the Path 1 Coaching Network, Discipleship Ministries (formally GBOD) and is the author of Shift – Helping Congregations Back into the Game of Effective Ministry.
This exciting and relevant training will provide an concrete steps and an immediately useful process that local churches can take, apply them to their context and personal creativity, then move to implementation. The shifts that Dr. Maynard describes in his book are:
From Fellowship to Hospitality
From Worship as Event to Worship as Lifestyle
From Membership to Discipleship
From Self to Others – Service & Generosity
Congregational leadership teams, consisting of the pastor and 4 key lay persons, will meet five times in a community setting over nine months for training. Coaches will then work with the congregations between meetings to begin the implication of learned skills and disciple-making processes in ways that are relevant in the local church’s setting.
The schedule for training events will be:
- September 19tth 2015: Orientation/Action Planning
- October 10th, 2015: Fellowship to Hospitality
- January 23rd 2016: Worship: Event to Lifestyle
- April 16th, 2016: Membership to Discipleship
- July 23rd, 2016 Self to Others (Service/Generosity)
The cost for the full training, including manuals, all materials, and coaching is $350 per congregational team.
Hospitality, Worship as Lifestyle, Discipleship, Service and Generosity – these are the characteristics of vital ministry that transforms the world. Come and be part of this incredible journey.
