In the fall of 2014, The Disciple Making Way will provide the same rich, transformative training, although a new format will be introduced.
Participating congregations will select a team, including the pastor and 4-7 lay persons, and the team will begin September 13, in a summit with other church teams, to launch the process.
A series of 4 summits will give church teams the framework and essential information to allow the teams to develop their unique vision and strategy for disciple-making ministries in sessions between the summits.
Summits will be held at the following locations, from 9:30-3:30:
- Saturday, September 13 , Salem UMC, Fayetteville
- Saturday, November 8 Methodist Building, Garner
- Saturday, January 10 Evansdale UMC, Wilson
- Saturday, March 14 Methodist Building, Garner
Each participating church team will have a coach to facilitate the process and to assist in the development of a discipleship plan. The coach will continue to walk alongside the team as the plans are being implemented to assure maximum effect.
The cost to the local church is low, typically no more than $40 per participant, up to $200 per congregational team.
The Disciple Making Way was envisioned by the Conference Connectional Table in 2012, and the curriculum was developed by a team of 7 members of the North Carolina Conference, all of whom are certified coaches. Now in its third year, The Disciple Making Way is proving effective in strengthening discipleship among members of congregations and reaching persons who have no relationship with the church and offering them the good news of abundant life in Jesus Christ.
To be a part of The Disciple Making Way, submit the registration form by Sept. 5 and someone from our office will contact you soon.
