The Conference Connectional Table (CCT) met February 11 at the Methodist Building in Garner. After a devotion by Rev. Alan Felton and communion led by Bishop Ward, the CCT moved to the day’s business of readying the 2021 budget proposal for presentation to the Council on Finance and Administration (CFA).
Each of the four teams – Christian Formation, Leadership, Outreach and Stewardship – considered the budgets prepared by their departments and committee chairs and presented the requests to the CCT. While trying to maintain current funding levels and decrease where possible, the CCT reviewed each request to ensure the ministry was aligned with the vision of the Annual Conference. After approval by the CCT and CFA, the budget will be presented to the Annual Conference in June for final approval.
Each year, the budget process begins in committees, then moves for approval to the team level, the CCT, the CFA budget committee, the CFA as a whole, and finally to the Annual Conference. Because the budget of the NC Conference operates on a four-year cycle, the budget being considered was for 2021.
The next CCT meeting is April 8.
Under the structure of the North Carolina Conference, the Connectional Table provides a forum for the understanding, casting forth, and implementation for the vision of the conference. It is the place where ministry and money come to the same table to coordinate the mission, ministries, and resources of the conference.
