When we are in the midst of conflict, we may struggle to feel the presence of God. Marisa Sifontes, a student at Candler School of Theology at Emory University, recently reflected on the presence of God in conflict. Marisa’s reflection was her video final exam for a directed study with Dr. Ellen Ott Marshall, Associate Professor of Christian Ethics and Conflict Transformation. Where is God in conflict?
Marisa refers to “Daoud” near the end of her reflection. She is referring to Daoud Nassar of the Tent of Nations. Marisa visited Daoud’s family farm in the hills southwest of Bethlehem during her recent trip to Israel and Palestine.
I hope that Marisa’s reflection (a sermon, really!) encourages you as much as it encouraged me.
