About Conflict Transformation Ministries

Our Ministry

Conflict is a natural, normal, and necessary part of life. Healthy engagement of conflict can transform conflict from a feared, destructive force into a welcomed, constructive agent for growth. The key to transforming conflict is the ability to engage and move through it in a healthy manner. The Conflict Transformation Ministries of the North Carolina Conference lead churches and individuals through the process of transforming conflict from a problem into an opportunity!

“All of this is from God, who reconciled us… through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.”
2 Corinthians 5:18

Our Mission

The Conflict Transformation Ministries support the annual conference in its mission to have healthy congregations and effective leaders in every place making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Our vision is the Body of Christ healed and transformed for the making of disciples. While our context for ministry is primarily within the United Methodist Connection in eastern North Carolina, we seek to embody God’s vision of peace and reconciliation for all of God’s people and all of God’s creation.

“It’s essential that Christians learn to listen well and to honor the viewpoint of others.”
Bishop Hope Morgan Ward

Our Services

Our services are available to local churches, groups, and individuals. A detailed proposal of services, including costs and payment plans will be provided.

Our skilled, trained Conflict Transformation Ministers are available for:

  1. Teaching and modeling skills for navigating conflict in healthy, faith-filled ways
  2. Facilitating conflict transformation and relational healing processes
  3. Coaching clergy and laity through unresolved conflict

Our Conflict Transformation Ministers are available for retreats, workshops, consultation, and intervention. Workshops can be tailored to meet your needs and time restraints.
