We are very pleased to announce that CIVA has received $10,000 in scholarship support to aid pastors and other church leaders in attending our Between Two Worlds Biennial Conference, June 11-14.
We are offering these scholarship funds for one simple, yet important reason: a robust conversation about “contemporary art and the church” will only be possible if church leaders are present.
If you are a pastor or if you know of a pastor who should join us in Grand Rapids, consider this:
Our CIVA conference is designed to help church leaders develop their visual arts program, including practical and theoretical insights to help move art toward the center of the Church’s worship and mission.
For those traveling to Grand Rapids, we are able to grant funding to cover up to 50% off the cost of your combined registration, meals, and lodging. This will reduce your total cost to $230.
For conference attendees who are local or staying with friends in Grand Rapids, the scholarship support we are offering will reduce your total cost to $115.
We are currently awarding funds on a rolling basis. To apply, complete this online application. The password is “help.” If at all possible, please make your scholarship request by May 15, 2015.
Please note: scholarships are not for the purpose of funding travel or day-ahead activities, so please provide an accurate estimate when completing the online form.
As you prepare to connect with artists, educators, and ministry leaders at our Between Two Worlds conference, you find many resources at CIVA. If you have questions of any kind concerning this event, don’t hesitate to contact Conference Registrar, Margot Rogers, in the CIVA Office at mrogers@civa.org or 978.867.4124.
