Unity in Community Witnesses to God’s Love and a Fruitful Future Together<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Cooperative Community focuses on intentional partnerships for the mission of Christ \u2013 to testify about the good news of God\u2019s grace, develop disciples, and serve people in a specific area. United by a shared vision for outreach to the community, everyone benefits through opportunities to grow in love of God and neighbor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Local churches, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, may enhance their witness to one another and to the world by showing forth the love of Jesus Christ through forms of mutual cooperation. (The Book of Discipline of the UMC, Paragraph 206.1)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cooperative<\/strong>: Communities need mutual cooperation and collaboration to overcome our diverse challenges in the present and for all to thrive in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community<\/strong>: People are empowered by a shared vision and common interest, serving with one another in a specific area. The Holy Spirit brings renewal as people connect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mission:<\/strong> Putting Christ’s mission first leads to new strength and health for churches, it benefits the whole community and helps to transform the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cooperative Communities on Mission Process consists of an introduction and four gatherings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
