North Carolina Conference people are generous and we are in times that call for our generosity to be present in responding to the disaster of Hurricane Matthew and its after-effects. Please keep tally of the number of flood buckets, hygiene kits, and other relief supplies prepared by your congregation. Then, go to the Lay Ministry Impact page and enter your data. Even in dire times, generosity is something to be celebrated.
At Camp UMC in Shallotte, NC, we collected at least 10 flood buckets, around 120 hygiene kits, and many more miscellaneous items, such as paper supplies, wash cloths, towels, linens, 3 large bags of toiletries, nonperishable food, and our Food Pantry donated a sizable check to the Food Bank of Wilmington to help supply food to our neighbors affected by the flood.
