Trinity UMC has a partnership with Eastway Elementary School, a high-poverty school, almost within sight of the church. The congregation has supported the children at the school in a number of ways to include: donating school supplies for children and teachers; a Thanksgiving food drive which fed more than 100 individuals and a coat drive which provided 95 new jackets as well as many additional hats, scarves, and gloves so that children would be warm on the playground and at the bus stop. Trinity’s C4C committee members and the entire Eastway family are deeply grateful for this partnership.

C4C Success Story: Epworth UMC
Epworth United Methodist Church partners with Hope Valley Elementary School to address the academic and nutritional needs of the children there. In addition to a large weekend backpack program, the church sponsors an after-school program for intensive homework help, with particular focus on literacy skills for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders. The church transports students from the school to the church where they work with tutors, most of whom have been trained with the Augustine Literacy Program. This fall, the church is adding an ESL program for the parents of the students. Epworth UMC, a heart for ministry.
