In this Connections video, Bishop Ward discusses strength during the third week of Advent.
We live in the light, in this third week of Advent. Three brilliant candles, burning with the hope of this holy season. “Be strong,” the texts sing to us.
A young girl named Mary was overshadowed by the strength of God. She found the strength within her to say, “Let it be, Oh God, to me, according to your will.” This is the prayer for each of us in this holy season of God’s overshadowing.
Isaiah sings of deserts blossoming and blooming; in every parched and barren place God comes. This is the strong joy of this holy season, and so we give thanks for candles lit; for hope, for peace and for joy, as we await anew, the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
May the hope and peace and joy of Christ be with you this Advent.
