Bishop Ward looks forward to the district gatherings for clergy which will happen this fall.
Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Very soon, I will be gathering across the districts with the clergy of our annual conference. I invite the laity to be in prayer for these times together.
I have found across 15 years of episcopal leadership, in the Mississippi Conference and in the North Carolina Conference, that these gatherings are greatly helpful to me. I am much encouraged when I see the faces of our clergy. When we connect with one another, when we hear from one another, when we speak to one another, and when we gather at the Lord’s table, we are a profound connection. We are a family and in this Conference year, it will be especially important that we stay connected with one another, that we speak what we feel is the truth in love with one another, that we listen patiently to one another and that we move forward trusting God and one another.
Thank you for your presence clergy, at the district gatherings. May these be a time that strengthens us for Christ’s ministry.
