In this video, Bishop Ward and some youth share about Breakaway and other Summer youth events.
Bishop Ward:
Peace and joy to you in these summer months. In the summer, our churches engage energetically with youth and children. You are in the prayers of the Annual Conference as you move into Vacation Bible School and summer day camps, and reading and learning camps across eastern North Carolina. This week, Breakaway is unfolding for youth in our Annual Conference.
Rebecca Hodges:
Breakaway is a week-long camp at North Carolina Wesleyan in Rocky Mount, and it’s a week where you spend time worshipping with God and learning while growing in a community with your peers. Some peers are older than you, and some peers are younger than you, but you all feel like a family.Cooper Sykes:
It’s really a tremendous week of just growing in community and fellowship with your fellow Methodists. It’s something that’s really tremendously impactful by the end of the week.Jordan Miller:
The thing that just keeps bringing me back to Breakaway is every year you come, you get a set of 200 new friends.Bishop Ward:
Our prayers and support continue for our youth as they gather for the Annual Conference Session (ACS) next month. Let us all continue to give generously to the Youth Storm Fund as we near our goal of $500,000 to be matched by the Annual Conference.
