Bishop Ward introduces the Southeast Asia Mission Summit to be held in the North Carolina Conference in March for all persons interested in learning more about this Mission Initiative.
Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
In the season after Epiphany, the star of Bethlehem shines brightly. This is a season of mission drawing all people toward Christ our Savior.
In November, it was my great privilege to travel again to Vietnam for the annual meeting of The United Methodist Vietnam Mission Initiative. Steve Taylor and Jaye White from our Connectional Ministries and Missions offices were also present. The mission in Vietnam is vibrant. Young people are being drawn to Christ. Many churches worship in homes. Church buildings are needed as house churches grow in size.
The North Carolina Conference has the honor of hosting a summit for the Mission Initiatives in Southeast Asia. The first week in March, leaders will gather who are engaged in mission initiatives in Thailand, Lao, in Cambodia, Vietnam and Mongolia. You’re invited to be a part of the summit, to step forward and be engaged as our church grows in this part of the world. At the mission summit, you will meet others who are engaged or who are interested in these missions and you will learn about the current status and the projected plans for each of the missions.
Contact Jaye White in the Missions office so that you might be a part of this important gathering. And let us continue to rejoice that Jesus indeed is the Savior of the world.
