Bishop Ward talks with Beacon District Superintendent Gil Wise about his trip to Italy with the Methodist University Chorale.
Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
We give thanks for Higher Education Ministries of The United Methodist Church. Reverend Gil Wise is Superintendent of the Beacon district. He’s also a proud parent of a senior at Methodist University and Gil and Linda, your wife, accompanied the Methodist University Chorale on their recent spring break trip to Italy.
REV. WISE: We had a great time in so many ways, that we were able to experience Rome together as a family, but also with the university community, as the chorale went to share their voices and song and in how, in some of those old places, those ancient places of Christianity, that we were able to hear these young voices to sing those old songs.

BISHOP WARD: Recently in worship at Hay Street United Methodist Church, I saw some of these same students in a praise choir. We give thanks for music, a gift of God to the church. Sing to the Lord a new song. And we give thanks for ministries of Higher Education.
Thank you for all that you do to support young people through your United Methodist Church.
