Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ who gives us abundantly more than we can dream or imagine.
The North Carolina Conference together with The Academy For Leadership Excellence and the Duke Endowment announce Project Bountiful. Isn’t that a wonderful name?
Twelve congregations from each of the eight districts will be a part of Project Bountiful. Project Bountiful will be a journey together of clergy and lay leadership from these 48* congregations.
There will be retreats and reading and mentoring and consultation as these congregations grow from strength to strength in mission in their communities and out into the world. Project Bountiful is just the latest witness of our great confidence that our God is a God of abundant love, that the vision of God for us is expansive and true and good.
I invite your prayers for Project Bountiful. The superintendents of the 8 districts and I are working together with you to identify churches in the districts for which this is the next faithful and good step in your life as you grow from strength to strength.
If you believe your congregation would be helped, if you believe this is a time in which your strength might be increased, be in touch with your district superintendent and let us all pray that as this movement of 48* churches begins, that God’s spirit of abundance and of joy will be upon us all.
Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ whose light shines upon us, radiant and bountiful.
*Project Bountiful will include a total of 96 congregations in two cycles of 48 rural and small town churches. Those churches, laity and clergy will also have 4 retreats over one year. Bishop Ward mentions 48 congregations relating to the first cycle of churches.
