After an inspiring Annual Conference, Bishop Ward, the Cabinet, and the Connectional Table look forward to the new conference year with many new and fruitful ministries in local churches throughout the conference.
Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for the wondrous time that we shared together at the Annual Conference session in Greenville last weekend and thank you to each of you who led worship at home in your church. We moved to a weekend annual conference so that the Annual Conference session would be accessible to more people, especially more younger, more diverse people. That did happen and I thank you for your willingness to engage this so beautifully together.
Now after Annual Conference, we are moving forward into the new conference year. Today, on Tuesday, the Cabinet is meeting for a relaxed day of retreat in which we will simply share our thoughts about where we are, remembering the last year in ministry together and the Annual Conference session which we just experienced. Tomorrow, the Connectional Table and the Cabinet will meet for a retreat as we similarly reflect upon the year now completed and look forward to the year about to unfold.
Thank you for all that you are; thank you for all that you do. Life together as United Methodist people is abundant and fruitful. May God continue to shower blessings upon us.
