The United Methodist Church is a force for good in the world. These are the words used by the Huffington Post to recognize the magnificent work that United Methodist people are doing through Imagine No Malaria.
Imagine No Malaria was embraced by the General Conference of The United Methodist Church in 2008 with a goal of raising $75 million to eradicate malaria from the face of the earth.
You are invited into great generosity as in this year the North Carolina Conference moves forward to raise over $1 million as our part of this expansive vision. God gives to us visions and dreams and great imagination.
Together we imagine a world without malaria and we invite our neighbors to imagine that world with us. In the News & Observer, in Raleigh, on Sunday, we placed an ad inviting all people to join with us in generosity for this great cause.
Hundreds of thousands of people continue to die of malaria in Africa; and 4 out of 5 of the people who die are children under the age of 5. Thank you for your compassion. Thank you for your creativity. Thank you for your generosity, as together we give.
As a result of the generosity of children and youth and adults, malaria will be no more. This is the vision God has given to us. Invite your friends and neighbors. Plan this fall to be a part of skeeter runs in every district in our Annual Conference.
The young people in our Annual Conference are planning a great offering at Pilgrimage in November. A year from now we will celebrate a million dollars for imagining no malaria in the world.
