Bishop Ward explains the three special offerings which will be received at Annual Conference 2018.
God is able to make grace abound so that you, having sufficiency in all things, may be generous in every good work.
As we gather for Annual Conference very soon, we will embody this teaching as we offer our resources toward Christ’s mission in the world. We will receive three Annual Conference offerings. Please think and pray about your response, interpret these offerings in your local church and come with generosity for these three times of sharing.
The first offering will be for the Mission Endowment Fund of our Annual Conference. The Mission Endowment Fund now in place has made it possible for us to invest mission funds into hurricane recovery. Families are blessed as their homes are restored.
The second offering will be for laity ministries in the Annual Conference. We give thanks for the ministry of laity and for the way in which this offering offers support and training as laity are equipped for their work as they follow Christ faithfully.
The third offering will be received at the Ordering of Ministry Service at the conclusion of the Annual Conference and this offering will be for the Endowment Fund for Theological Education in the Central Conferences. Here in the North Carolina Annual Conference we are greatly advantaged with the presence of Duke Divinity School. We are advantaged also by the wonderful array of opportunities we have to be trained for our work as Christian disciples. The Endowment Fund for Theological Education will make possible these sorts of opportunities around the world, in Africa, Europe, Russia, the Philippines.
Thank you for your generosity as we gather for Annual Conference very soon.
