In this Connections video, Bishop Ward talks about gathering at the 2013 Annual Conference. Find all the information needed to prepare for Conference on the AC 2013 page.
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Tomorrow many will gather in Greenville, lay and clergy members of the Annual Conference. Lay and Clergy members will come from over 800 congregations and we will gather to celebrate the ministry we share in local churches and in extension ministries.
We gather for Annual Conference so that we might worship, and learn, and be inspired, so that we might connect with one another in new and engaging ways, and so we might make a few decisions that are important in our shared life.
Notice I use these 2 little words “so that.” I learned these words from Tom Berlin and Lovett Weems in their book, “Bearing Fruit,” recommended as preparatory reading for Annual Conference, they suggest that these 2 little words “so that,” can help us envision why we are doing what we do.
Annual Conference is for inspiration, for connection, and for decision making. I look forward to sharing this time with you – the adventure; the journey across these days will bless each of us.
I pray for you as you travel to Greenville, and I look forward to gathering with you “so that” our connection may be made strong for ministry.
