Bishop Ward is joined by members of the conference Asian Ministry team – Sang-Seon Park, Kong Namkung, and Edgar De Jesus – to extend an invitation to pilgrimage.
We give thanks to God for the Asian Ministries team in the North Carolina Annual Conference. These three leaders of the team are here with me to share with you an invitation – an invitation to be on pilgrimage, a spiritual pilgrimage to Asia in March 2020. The group will first visit Korea.
REV. KONG NAMKUNG:
On the trip to South Korea, you will experience historical and cultural experiences, especially you will experience the growth of Korean Christianity through evangelism and spirituality. Also, you will have the experience to visit the DMZ for the reconciliation of North and South Korea. All Christians in South Korea, as well as the whole world, pray for the unification of North and South Korea.
And then on to the Philippines.
REV. EDGAR DE JESUS:
From Korea, we will be traveling to the Philippines to engage ourselves with one of the most growing United Methodist churches through our global church. There are a lot of social justice issues that are going on in the Philippines, particularly our struggles with drugs and poverty and so we will witness and engage ourselves among churches, particularly in the issues of social justice and peace.
REV. SANG-SEON PARK:
We invite you, the North Carolina Annual Conference, clergy and laity, to join this wonderful opportunity God opened for us, to enrich and strengthen our mission horizon in this trip. Thank you for your support and your prayers.
