Bishop Ward gives thanks for the brilliance of the earth and all that God has created and introduces Creation Care resources for congregations.
New every day is your love Great God of Light and all day long, you are working for good in the world. Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with one another and with all creation, and to devote this day to your service. Amen.
I love this prayer and I pray it often. It’s a perfect prayer for this beautiful sunny brilliant day, with the slightest breeze. I give thanks for the brilliance of nature, for the brilliant colors behind me, the ones that we see as we look out upon the world that God has made. God’s love and creative power is new every day and God summons us into God’s own embrace that we might live peacefully with one another and with this entire creation.
God has made us and God has made this beautiful world with tender loving care. The created world around us is a gift and it’s our call to care for it well. May you in your congregation embrace the ministry of Creation Care. You’ll find resources for this on the North Carolina Conference website.
May we give thanks for the goodness of creation. May we glory in God, who made everything we see and may we indeed, with God, declare, “It is very good.” May we care for creation as God’s gift this day and always.
