In this video, Bishop Ward encourages us to consider children and young people who we might invite to consider a camping experience.
Jesus said, “Come and follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people.” Camping Ministries of the North Carolina Annual Conference help us fish well for people.
We give thanks for this scripture out of Matthew, chapter 4 and we see it in our mind’s eye, the beautiful sea of Galilee, the mountains in the distance, the sky overhead, and underfoot, green grass and pebbles by the lake shore.
When we move out into God’s world, we are blessed. Through Camping and Outdoor ministries, children and their families grow closer to God.
I hope that you will interpret these ministries in your church, encourage children to register for camp, encourage youth to register for Youth camps, and in these ways, families will be enriched, disciples will be made, and witnesses will be strengthened for Jesus Christ. Remember that camperships are available, and that children of clergy receive a discount.
Consider today, children and young people, who you might invite to consider a camping experience. And know that, whether in a sail boat, or in a canoe, or experiencing a zip line, or riding horseback, or toasting marshmallows by a campfire, in all of these ways, the lives of young people are blessed.
We give thanks for the ministries of Camp Chestnut Ridge, Camp Don Lee, and Camp Rockfish. Go online today and register for camp.
