Bishop Ward joined others in Princeville on the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, helping repair homes damaged by Hurricane Matthew and urging us to give to the Youth Storm Response.
Bishop Ward: Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
As you see behind us, our Disaster Recovery Ministries continue to unfold. We’re in Princeville on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday and the work is being done in the extremely cold weather and the wind.
Jason DuVall: Good afternoon everybody. My name is Reverend Jason DuVall with the North Carolina Conference and site manager here in Tarboro.
David Anderson: My name’s David Anderson. I’m the director of the Twin-County Disaster Relief group who’s helping to furnish these homes these good folks are rebuilding.
Greg Roth: I’m Greg Roth, Heritage District Coordinator.
Bishop Ward: We give thanks for your generosity and we ask for your continued generosity into this year. An excellent way to give to storm recovery is to give through the “Youth Storm Response.” The annual conference is matching dollar for dollar every dollar donated and we anticipate raising by Pentecost Sunday $500,000. That will be matched so that we’ll have $1 million in addition to the grants and the good gifts that you have already given.
Thank you for all that we are doing together so the people will be back home.
