As we enter into the Advent season, we will be centering on the theme, “What Child Is This?” This week, we focus on the children of Palestine.
Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Advent is here. We give thanks for this holy season of expectation, yearning and longing for the fullness of Gods’ gifts.
Jesus Christ comes to us born as a little child. During the season of Advent, we will focus on the hymn “What Child is This?” The question will hang in the air as we give thanks for our ministry with all children – the children close to us in our families and communities, the children in our state and nation and the children around the world.“What child is this who lays to rest in Mary’s lap is sleeping?” A beautiful prayer says it well. God sent Jesus to us as a little child, therefore, sanctifying all childhood in Him.
In the first week of Advent, we will focus on the children of Palestine, the children who live in the town of Bethlehem the town of Jesus’ birth, children who live there now behind the separation walls. We give thanks that God loves us all and that as Christ comes, we are beckoned into ministry with all God’s people in every place.
