Bishop Ward introduces Jeannie Lee, Marketing Director of 3MC, in this Connections video.
Bishop: We celebrate together as United Methodists in eastern North Carolina a mission of making disciples of all for Jesus Christ. A rich resource for that mission is 3MC center in Goldsboro.
Located in the very heart of our Annual Conference, this mission center came into being as a result of hurricanes in eastern North Carolina over a decade ago; Hurricane Fran and Hurricane Floyd. This piece of property and the building on it have been used by United Methodists in our Annual Conference now for this expanse of time, to be in mission.
It’s a joy to introduce to you the new marketing director of 3MC, Jeannie Lee, a member of Fuquay-Varina United Methodist church. And Jeannie will share with you some of the exciting things that are happening through 3MC.
Jeannie: Thank you Bishop Ward. Thanks for the time here today, we are excited about a lot of the things that are taking place at 3MC. Of course we are still doing disaster relief and helping out with UMCOR depot.
One of the most exciting things that’s taking place is a new thing called “A Cradle Ministry.” It offers the ability to support families who are in need after having either a still birth or a miscarriage in the hospital. By law, these families are required to take to take the child out of the hospital and a lot of times they are unable to afford the proper burial and accommodations. 3MC offers these cradles, they are handcrafted by the United Methodist Men, and each one is special and unique. And then the inserts are provided by United Methodist Women, offering a soft resting place for these infants. It’s a wonderful ministry and we welcome each of you to be a part of the ministry here at 3MC.
Bishop: We give thanks for all the ways we’re connected in mission and ministry in the North Carolina Annual Conference. Thank you for your prayers for 3MC and for all our life together. Grace and peace.
