Bishop Ward expresses her thanks for your 2013 Apportionments in this Connections video.
In this radiant season after the Epiphany, we give thanks for the life we share, illuminated by Christ, the Light of the world.
Jesus said in the gospel of Matthew, to us, surprisingly, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden, neither do people put a light under a bushel. Instead they put it on a lamp stand so that all of the house may see it. Therefore let your light shine before others that they may give glory to God, who is in heaven.”
The light of the North Carolina Annual Conference, indeed, is shining in brilliant ways. In the year 2013, together, we have supported our apportionment covenant at 92.5 percent. This makes us a leader among United Methodist Conferences and United Methodist people.
Thank you for leadership in interpreting our connectional shared ministry in the world, and thank you for your generosity. Your gifts are making a difference in the lives of people around the world, here in North Carolina, and in your community.
The radiant light of Christ is present in our lives and in our witness. In this new year, may this generosity continue as we, in confidence, share the love of Christ. Give generously, and boldly proclaim the Good News in every place.
