As you know, by now, the 2015 NC Annual Conference will elect Delegates to the 2016 General Conference and the 2016 SE Jurisdictional Conference of The United Methodist Church. The voting information provides for you details regarding the number of delegates and procedures of the nomination and election.
Please read the voting information very carefully, as you prepare to come to the 2015 NC Annual Conference. We will use handheld electronic voting devices. There will be a number assigned to each of the candidates, to facilitate the use of the voting equipment. The results will be displayed on the screens, as the votes are tallied. The materials have been developed to aid and assist us, as we move through the voting process during the annual conference, until the task is complete.
Please keep in mind, as you prepare your voting, the NC Conference is an inclusive conference. We desire to have a delegation that will capably reflect the annual conference, and be representative of it.
I urge the Laity to consider submitting an Information Form. Or, you might know of a lay person you feel would be a strong candidate. Contact them, and ask them to consider submitting an Information Form. Full elders and the full deacons of the NC Conference may consider submitting a Clergy Information Form. Information Forms are not required for election. The Information Forms that are submitted, will be posted online, with the clergy person’s number from the eligible clergy listing posted online, and the laity assigned a number as submitted.
Be in prayer for our conference as we meet, and for all of our people who are about God’s business. If you have any questions regarding these things, contact the Conference Secretary’s Office.
