Rev. Joseph Park receives Evangelism Award in 2025

We are excited to announce that we are now accepting submissions for three meaningful awards honoring the faithful work happening across the North Carolina Conference. Whether in a rural church, a city neighborhood, or somewhere in between, God is at work through our clergy, laity, and youth, and we want to celebrate it.

🕊️ Peacebuilding Award

Presented by Connectional Ministries

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” — Matthew 5:9

Do you know a United Methodist peacebuilder whose faithful work is making a difference? Connectional Ministries invites you to nominate one clergyperson and one layperson who embody Christ-centered peace, justice, reconciliation, and inclusivity. We especially encourage nominations of those whose quiet witness often happens beyond the spotlight.

Nomination deadline: March 31

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” — Matthew 28:19

Every day, people across our conference are sharing Christ’s love in ways that transform lives. The NC Conference Evangelism Award honors one youth, one layperson, and one pastor who embody authentic evangelism and faithful witness.

Since 1990, the NC Conference has honored more than 50 clergy, laity, and youth for their work in evangelism. Help us celebrate the next recipients.

🌾 Key Taylor Award for Rural Ministry

Presented by Peace Building & Outreach Ministry

Are you attending or pastoring a rural United Methodist Church that is making a difference in your community?

The Rural Church Fund (Key Taylor Award) honors the faithful mission and impact of rural congregations across the North Carolina Conference. Established in 1958 through the vision of Rev. Key W. Taylor, this endowment continues to support and lift up rural church ministry today.

In 2026, $1,854 will be awarded from the Rural Church Endowment to one exemplary rural congregation. We encourage rural churches across the conference to apply or nominate a congregation whose ministry is making a meaningful difference.

Nomination deadline: April 17, 2026
