The North Carolina Conference Board of Ordained Ministry recently elected Rev. Dr. Sangwoo Kim as its Chairperson. Reverend Kim currently serves as Senior Director of the Methodist House of Studies and the Wesleyan Formation Initiatives at Duke Divinity School.

Reverend Kim has been serving as the Board secretary and was chosen to follow Reverend Laura Fine Ledford in the role of Chairperson. During her tenure as Chair, Reverend Ledford helped us identify priorities such as Cultural Humility and Anti-Racism. Additionally, she has challenged us to review our process to unearth biases and consider new ways we can collaborate with expanded transparency and accountability.

We are indebted to Rev. Ledford for launching us well into a new season of ministry together. The Board looks forward to the leadership of Rev. Kim in this important aspect of our common ministry.
