Pensions Training Sessions

The Conference Board of Pension sponsored a Tri-District education event on Sunday, April 23, 2006 in Durham regarding the changes in the clergy pension plans effective January 1, 2007.  Issues discussed at this event included:

• Policies going to Annual Conference June 2006 to enact these changes
• Specific details regarding the Clergy Retirement Security Program (CRSP)
• The transition from the Ministerial Pension Plan (MPP) to CRSP
• Changes in the Comprehensive Protection Plan (CPP)
• Financing these plans
• Changes to the United Methodist Personal Investment Plan (UMPIP)
• Proposed change to funding the Minister's Transition Fund

The Board encourages all leaders of the local church (including Staff Parish Relations members, financial officers, Annual Conference members and attendees) to either attend one of the tri-district education events or to view the video of the Durham event if you cannot attend a live event.
