Faith and Money: Taxes done? Not yet!

Posted under: Treasurer's Office

As we have just passed the filing deadline for our personal income taxes, we are sure no one is eager to just back in the tax mind set, but don’t move on to other things too soon!  Implementation guidance is available from the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits for churches eligible for the Small Business Health Care Tax Credit. Please take time to review the implementation guide to see if your church qualifies – many of our churches will be eligible for this credit and the refund could be substantial to a church budget especially during these tough economic times. All churches are encouraged to review this if they have at least one lay person on payroll – even large churches may meet the guidelines!

More information is available for you to help see if your church qualifies as well as other frequently asked questions about this and other topics on the Treasurer’s Office FAQ page.  We hope you will take advantage but don’t delay – the deadline is May 15!
