Did you know?
Public Health officials in North Carolina are monitoring the situation and urging citizens to respond to this potential flu outbreak the way they would during the traditional flu season in the fall and winter, that is, with good hygiene practices. Cover your mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing, avoid close contact with people who are sick and wash hands thoroughly and often. And remember common courtesy, if you are sick with a fever, remain home for 24 hours after the fever abates.
From PACT:
Federal health officials this Sunday, April 26, 2009, declared a public health emergency as the number of swine flu cases rose to 50. There had been confirmed cases in Texas, California, Kansas, New Jersey, Ohio and reported outbreak at a New York City private school.
