Restroom Accessibility Grant requests Due December 13, 2011

 The The Duke Endowment has generously provided funding for installation of restroom facilities or upgrade of existing inadequate facilities for rural United Methodist Churches in the North Carolina Conference.  It is hoped that these funds will be utilized for materials only, however, if you do not have adequate expertise in your congregation to provide the labor, or do not have the ability to fund the labor, please ensure that you note the need for labor funding.

Please complete and submit your application to the Office of Outreach Ministries.  Grant applications should be submitted by December 13, 2011 via mail or fax.   The Missions Team Building Committee will determine grant recipients.  Notifications will be made by …. and funds will be disbursed by December 31, 2011.   For funding guidelines and downloadable application, please see:  2011 Restroom Accessibility Grants

Mission Seed Funds Available – Applications Due

Mission Seed Funds are now available.  There is a small amount of funding for 2011.  Funds must be expended within the 2011 calendar year.  Applications are due November 1, 2011.  Funds will be disbursed by November 15.

Seed Fund Applications for the 2012 funding cycle are due November 1, 2011.  Funds will be disbursed by March 31, 2012.

Applications and budget reports can be found at Mission Seed Funds.

Final Reports and Budget Reports are due for recipients of 2011 Mission Seed Funds no later than January 31, 2012.  (Any recipient not submitting a required report will not be eligible for future funding until required reports are received.)

Human Relations Day Grant Funding Available

Jan. 10 is the deadline to apply for a Human Relations Day Grant from the United Methodist General Board of Church & Society (GBCS). The grants are to support ministries that respond to non-violent young offenders through education, advocacy or leadership training and development.

Grant funds are raised through The United Methodist Church’s Human Relations Day Special Sunday each year. Special Sundays are an opportunity for United Methodist churches to celebrate the denomination’s connectional work. This day of social action and raising awareness supports the Youth Offender Rehabilitation Program.

Human Relations Day happens the Sunday immediately following the observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday: Jan. 16 next year. The United Methodist Book of Discipline describes Human Relations Day as a call to “the Church to recognize the right of all God’s children in realizing their potential as human beings in relationship with each other.”

2011 Mission Seed Fund Applications Available
