**IRAI No Longer Required for Candidates**
Effective immediately, the Inventory of Religious Activities and Interests (IRAI) is no longer a required component for the licensed and ordained ministry candidacy process in The United Methodist Church. After gathering much feedback from candidates, annual conference representatives and other denominational officers, the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry has made the decision that this component of the candidacy process is no longer required for licensed and ordained ministry candidates.
If you are enrolled in the candidacy process and have not yet completed the IRAI, you and your mentor may bypass this requirement by marking this step “completed” on the Online Candidacy System.
