Resource of the Week: July 24

 Following Jesus: Steps to a passionate Faith

I finally had time to look at this printed resource: leader guide and student books this week. While I thought it was a small group resource for deeper study into spiritual disciplines and faith practices (which it IS), I learned that the material is based on what is used at Ginghamsburg church for new membership classes. The first 4 sessions are concerned with Who is Jesus? The next 4 sessions are focused on the Holy Spirit and the last section in on Living in Faith and Service in community. Interesting note: in Part one/Session 3: “Jesus the Savior of World”, the leader is advised: “If your church has a handout on becoming a Christian, it might be helpful to have these for any participants who want more information and support. Christian organizations such as Intervarsity, The Navigators, Campus Crusade, and Billy Graham Evangelistic Assoc. have materials that you can order.”

That is a good question..Does your church have a handout on becoming a Christian? I am going to research what is available from the that list, and do another blog when I find out.
