Resources for Adults

Change the World

United Methodist pastor Mike Slaughter invites churches into the world to live out the message and mission of Jesus.  These DVD studies for small groups or church leadership teams link Bible study to service projects and challenge participants to become missional leaders as the scriptures command.  The small group resource is 6 sessions and includes a DVD, leader’s guide, and participant book.  The resource for leadership teams is 4 sessions and includes the DVD and a leader’s guide. Participants are encouraged to read the book that serves as the basis for the study.

PowerXPress: Peacemakers

The PowerXPress curriculum from Abingdon Press is designed for rotational Sunday School teaching, although the lessons can be used in any children’s groups.  Rotational teaching sets up stations with different teachers that the children rotate through each week.  The stations are: Art, Computer, Cooking, Game, Music, Science, Storytelling, and Video.  This Peacemakers unit examines the role of peace and justice in the biblical stories of Jacob and Esau, Amos, Abigail and David, and the Beatitudes. The participants will learn about and commit to peacemaking.
