About the NCCUMC Media Center Evergreen Blog

The NC Conference Media Center is upgrading our current library software to a new system with greater functionality and less expense.  In fact, it’s free!  Evergreen is an open source integrated library system used by hundreds of libraries around the world including the brand new union catalog of North Carolina Public Libraries.  The Conference IT Office has been gracious enough to install Evergreen for the Media Center, and now it is my job to input all of our data and learn how to use the software.

This blog will record tasks endeavored and lessons learned in setting up Evergreen for the NC Conference Media Center.  The intention of this blog is to assist other church libraries that may be interested in using Evergreen.  The scalability of Evergreen makes it an excellent choice for the smallest church library to a potential union catalog between all of the church libraries in our Conference.
