What do you think of the role of parliamentary
procedures during General Conference?

Response:  Many times they seem to be cumbersome but basically are necessary for order.  Frustrations are evident when process appears to focus on these procedures instead of the intent and focus of ministry.
--Cashar Evans

Response: As we work in a parliamentary fashion, much time is spent debating and deciding the process itself (points of order, motions on process).  As we move toward perfection in our life together, there is room to grow here.  The substance of the petitions is deserving of our attention.  Parliamentary process does not always get us to this place.
--Hope Morgan Ward

Response: In its purest form, it helps us get all issues, all sides on the floor in a civil manner.  However, I have observed times this week when parliamentary procedures became the focus, not the issue we were discussing.
--Anna Gail Workman

Response: With so many various opinions and agendas, we would have total confusion without these procedures.
--Roger Elliott
