Upper Room to Match NC Conference Money for Academy for Spiritual Formation Participants
for a Total $2,000 Grant
The Academy for Spiritual Formation (Upper Room) is a two-year program that brings lay and clergy participants together for 40 days (five days each quarter) for worship, silence, covenant groups, and study. Sixteen courses on Christian spirituality form the backbone of the Academy. The Academy has a unique capacity to call, support, nurture, and encourage spiritual leaders for ministry, whether clergy or lay, early in your ministry or later in your ministry. The next regional Academy (#27) begins in Baltimore , MD , October 14-19, 2007. The North Carolina Conference is making five $1000 dollar grants available to the first five persons from our conference who complete the application process for the Academy. The Upper Room will match each of these grants before the beginning of Session 1 of Academy #27. Application, prospectus, and costs are available at www.upperroom.org/academy . After you are accepted into the Academy, request one of the five matching grants through Irene Brownlee , 919-832-9560, Ext. 299, ibrownlee@nccumc.org.
