New for 2009 – we have a newsletter of sorts with monthly articles on various aspects of children’s ministry written by leaders of children’s ministry within the NC Conference UMC.  We call this “ABC’s…123’s…A Place to Start.”  Click on that title to the left and the articles will be available to you.  If you would like to comment on any of these articles, please return to this page and click on “Welcome” at the top of the page and the comments box will appear below.

Coming up in February, 2010, we will be hosting the Children’s Ministry Forum event for those involved in children’s ministry of medium to large churches (250+ in worship attendance).  This national resource event will be hosted by Edenton St UMC in Raleigh.  The dates are February 23-25, 2010.  Stay tuned for further details!

An evaluation/assessment tool for children’s ministry for local churches may be found under “Evaluation tool”. These questions and thoughts to consider are designed to help a local church reflect on children’s ministry – what is happening and to be celebrated – and what remains to be done to be in ministry with all God’s children.

This site will be updated periodically with other resources and links for children’s ministry.  For more information on children’s ministry in the NC Conference of the United Methodist Church, contact: Director of Children, Youth, and Young Adult Ministries – Sue Ellen Nicholson.
