The 2012 UMM Duke Day event will be Oct. 20 when the Duke Blue Devils meet UNC in Durham. UMM Duke Day is a community outreach program sponsored by the UMM of the NC Conference, aimed toward men’s ministry groups sponsoring local youth and bringing them to the game to experience Christian fellowship at a major sporting event. Share the Game, Share your Faith

Duke Day is a community outreach event sponsored by the United Methodist Men of the North Carolina Conference. This year, Duke Day will occur on October 22. Local UMM units are encouraged to reach out to local youth groups to sponsor their participation in this event.

The speaker for this event is Rod Propes. A veteran vocalist with over 20 years of experience, Rod shares his life experiences through testimony and song.

In 2000 Rod started his own music evangelism ministry which has been accepted tremendously and seen over 12,000 decisions for Christ. With his charisma, desire to serve God and most of all the anointing of the Holy Spirit, you are sure to receive a blessing.

Game time for Duke Day, Duke vs. Wake Forest, has been released: Kick off is scheduled for 12:30pm.

Planned Activities

To accommodate this kick off time, the program schedule is as follows:

• 10:00am–10:30am: Registration
• 10:30am–11:30am: Chapel Service
• 11:30am–12:00pm: Lunch
• 12:00pm-12:30pm: Walk to stadium

Final ticket count is needed by Wednesday, Oct. 19th for food purchase.

The cost is $20 per person and includes the pre-game event, lunch, and game ticket.

Chad Goss, a former Alabama starting wide receiver, is the pre-game event speaker. He will share his personal story of overcoming many obstacles as a child and teenager before his life changing journey at the University of Alabama.

The exact time of his talk and lunch will depend on when the game starts. That will not be known until 13 days before Sept. 25.
