I am thrilled to see Jon Strother appointed and know that he will commit himself fully to the task as he always does. I have known Jon and Diana since they came to Warren County many years ago (his first appointment). He was like a brother to me and my family and I wish him and his family the very best .

I first knew Jon in the days before rock and roll. We were hanging out in Laurel Canyon with James and Joni; Carole and Jackson; CS&N and the Eagles. Rave on , Jon, rave on, rave on, rave on.

The appointment of Francis Daniel as DS for the Wilmington District is an excellent choice. He is a superb preacher with outstanding administrative and leadership skills. He has been my pastor at Wesley Memorial UMC for the past five years, and he will be greatly missed at my church, but I am thankful that he will be leading the Wilmington District and will still be in the “neighborhood”. May God bless him in his new role.

Congratulations to the Rev. Francis Daniel for his appointment as DS in Wilmington. My family had the good fortune of experiencing his superb skills for the eight years he served Divine Street UMC in Dunn. His whole family gave their talents to the church and now that we live in Sanford, we are blessed with the ministry of his son-in-law, Jay Locklear, a staff member at St. Luke UMC, and Francis and Gayle’s daughter, Heather, and their family. God bless this entire family for their service to Methodism.
