Faith is a journey. Faith is a journey filled with high places and low spots; curves and sharp turns. On that journey we get lost, go over bumps, and sometimes enjoy a beautiful view along the way. People have God speak to them during mountaintop moments whether those moments are at camp, a retreat, or on a silent walk through the woods. Pilgrimage is designed to be one of those mountaintop moments in our faith journeys. Pilgrimage is a time and place to discover that faith and discipleship can be fun!
For 18 years, Pilgrimage has brought youth and leaders from the NC Conference of the United Methodist Church together for a weekend of worship, empowerment, and a call to discipleship. This year the theme is: Follow the Way. Speak the Truth. Live the Life.
The Pilgrimage Planning Team is inviting the conference to help them prepare their hearts and souls for Pilgrimage weekend. They need prayers for this mountaintop experience on our faith journeys. Beginning October 2, 2011, friends, attendees, and churches are asked to hold Pilgrimage in prayer for 40 days. In addition to the call for prayer, pastors, conference leaders, and youth from the NCCUMC and previous Pilgrimage participants are invited to share a prayer.
Please submit a prayer in an email to Mary Frances McClure, at mfmcclure@nccumc.org or on Facebook by October 15th. These will be posted on the Pilgrimage website. In the email make sure appropriate contact information is listed twice: once for Mary Frances to contact you and once in a form you want published on the site (Name, connection to Pilgrimage, church and city/town).
